We are currently seeking a motivated senior-level planner, scientist, or engineer for NEPA and CEQA compliance associated with energy facilities. The position is a project manager or assistant project manager level based out of our Irvine, California office.  The first assignment will be a full time position for a period of several months in our client's office in the greater Los Angeles area.  

 The candidate must have technical degree (BS/BA) in a natural resource science, planning, or engineering (advanced degree preferred) and maintain strong interdisciplinary skills. A minimum of 10-15 years professional experience with both project management and energy facility permitting, including linear energy projects is preferred. Candidates will be responsible for managing projects, including budgets, client relations, technical staff, and reports. Responsibilities also include preparing SF299 applications for Special Use Permits and writing resource sections of NEPA documents.

 

Experience with NEPA and CEQA is required. Experience working with energy clients and government agencies in preparing SF299 applications and other permit applications as well as land use planning, and preparing EISs and EAs also required. Senior level quality control and document review experience necessary. Must be an effective communicator, highly motivated, a critical thinker and problem solver, detail oriented, organized, and a team player with strong focus on leadership, quality and client service. Day-to-day responsibilities will include obtaining authorizations for projects to be constructed over federally-managed lands for interconnection of the renewable energy to the electrical grid; attending project-related meetings identifying government land related issues and providing direction to the project teams as needed for pro-active approaches and solutions; providing all necessary communication with the federal land agency district or field offices to keep the agencies informed on the status of the various projects to eliminate any foreseeable delays; setting up all coordination meetings with the federal agencies; coordinating with multiple utility and developer business units and departments on all NEPA and CEQA matters; providing status reports; and providing risk management analysis identifying any possible impacts to the project schedules.
