2001 LA APA Award Winners

2001 awards ceremony in Culver CityThe 2001 LA APA Planning Award winners were honored at the LA APA Awards Ceremony on Thursday evening, June 7 under "The Umbrella" at Conjunctive Points in Culver City. Over one hundred people attended the ceremony, and seven meritorious projects were recognized for their excellence in five categories.

Also awarded was the Distinguished Leadership Award for an Elected Official, which went to the Honorable Cindy Miscikowski for her significant contribution to excellence in public planning. Another Distinguished Leadership Award went to Frederick and Laurie Samitaur Smith for their contribution to the planning field. Finally, the Media Award was given to Huell Howser for outstanding coverage of planning through his work as producer and host of the television show "California Gold".
